Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan handle commentary for this episode that aired on WrestleMania Sunday. They are taped from Biloxi, Mississippi.
Opening Contest: Bret Hart (9-1-1) beats Doug Somers via submission to the Sharpshooter at 1:19:
Bret is not afraid to play dirty, raking Somers’ eyes to stop him from throwing punches and using a backbreaker to set up a quick Sharpshooter win.
Lord Alfred Hayes’ Special Report segment replays Elizabeth’s interview from March to WrestleMania VIII.
The Nasty Boys (w/Jimmy Hart) (6-0) defeat John Price & Larry Siegel when Jerry Sags pins Siegel after the trip to Nastyville at 2:14:
Price wears a t-shirt underneath his tights, which the Nasties rip off when they get him into their corner and beat on him and he attempts to escape. The WWF tag team division has been dead since mid-February with teams like the Nasties assembling lots of squash wins but no storylines are being developed outside of the tag team title picture. The Nasties cruise to an uneventful win, beating on Siegel some more after the bell.
The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) (8-0) defeats the Brooklyn Brawler after the Tombstone at 1:13:
The Brawler thrashes wildly when the Undertaker chokes him in the corner and that is the highlight of this squash. After the bout, the Undertaker and Bearer stuff the Brawler into a body bag.
Okerlund does the WrestleMania VIII Report. Sid Justice and Harvey Wippleman tell Hulk Hogan that he has no chance against him in the WrestleMania main event and that Sid will be the host of Hogan’s going away party. WWF Tag Team Champions Money Incorporated talk about having a victory celebration pre-prepared for their match against the Natural Disasters. The Disasters rebut that they are going to foreclose on Ted DiBiase, audit Irwin R. Schyster, and put Jimmy Hart in a roach motel. The Undertaker and Paul Bearer warn Jake Roberts that he should have all of his affairs in order because he will not survive WrestleMania.
Papa Shango (7-0) beats Ian Weston after the reverse shoulderbreaker at 1:15:
Shango easily runs through another opponent. He is likely to factor into storylines after WrestleMania but the WWF is holding off giving him a program until some feuds are settled on the pay-per-view.
The collected series of clips from the March to WrestleMania VIII special about Hulk Hogan that aired on Superstars is shown.
The Last Word: The show provided final hype for WrestleMania VIII. It was surprising that the WWF did not recycle some of the video packages it used on the March to WrestleMania VIII special because that would have been a good way to kill time on the program.
