The difference between WWE and AEW
By Scott Keith on July 8, 2023
Hey Scott:
This is probably a silly question but…which company do you like more from an in ring standpoint between WWE and AEW? It seems like AEW allows the talent to showcase what they can do far more than WWE does. One of the best examples is Bryan Danielson. Yes he had great WWE matches but his moveset and overall wrestling ability have been much more on display in All Elite. I like the Young Bucks but I can see WWE toning down their style a lot should they choose to go there. For years it has seemed like many **** potential matches based on the wrestlers involved (Seth/Finn for example) have been good at best. I'd love to hear your input. And the AEW trolls are wrong about the company imo.
When WWE has matches that are a really high level, they do a better job of making them seem important and the actual presentation of them to distinguish from the rest of their merely “good” matches on the card. But AEW tends to let everyone have great matches if they want and so although I enjoy the in ring product on a day-to-day basis much more than WWE, I tend to remember specific WWE great matches (like Gunther / Sheamus / Drew) more specifically than matches from AEW that might be of a similar caliber but got overshadowed by the next great match.
