Hey Scott,
When doing the ring introductions for the Rock v Austin main event, Howard Finkel announces that the match will be no-DQ. The commentators make a big deal of how this was not part of the arranged stipulations and was a last-minute addition.
To your knowledge, was this an indication that the booking of the main event, and particularly the finish, had been up in the air until right before the match?

Not to my knowledge. It was known way in advance that Austin was winning and probably turning heel. We certainly didn’t want to see the latter thing happen but it wasn’t a huge shock.
