The Guy

In recent years, there are often comments debating when the trigger should be pulled on a wrestler being The Guy, who it should be, and so on. There are also world title reigns dismissed as relatively unimportant because the champion wasn't the focus compared to whoever The Guy was at the time. “Even if Cody won, it wouldn't matter because the title would go right back to Roman since he's The Guy,” for example. …do you think The Guy has effectively become a title more important than any of the actual championships? If so, when did that happen?
Hard disagree with the central premise. If anything being The Guy has never meant less to business because the brand is the only true draw. Except for Cody himself who seems to be the one selling tickets and merch. Which is why it’s ALL THE MORE INSANE that they didn’t put him over!
