AEW’s plan to pack Wembley
By Scott Keith on April 12, 2023
Having said that and seeing the drop in attendance at Grand Slam this year, AEW has to know they can't get the minimum crowd they need just on name alone. Thankfully their PPV schedule really sets them up this year with a solid 2 months between Forbidden Door and All In. Throw in a couple Dynamite/Rampage specials of Fyter Fest & Fight for The Fallen in between, TK has a great opportunity and time to build a card of a Stadium Caliber show without burning out the stories and feuds I still see them having a habit of doing. This can't be a show with a Jade Cargill squash and matches that should have been left on Dark. The live crowd and after buzz has to draw more fans to all the following shows in the UK. All I think a Punk return does is decide Omegas match that night. So what could you see TK saving until then?
FTR/Bucks III?
Omega should be in a singles match to really Wow! Wembley, but if not Punk, then who?
Right now i don't feel anyone is in position to take the title off MJF, and if he keeps it till then, who could they build up in time to be a serious threat to main Event? (Maybe that's where Omega slots in?)
Is this where we get my dream trios of The House of Black vs. The BCC?
Do you book another international star to load up even more and get more global press? Vakingo vs. Fenix anyone? Ospreay with a homecoming?
I think if they do Omega v Okada, MJF v Adam Cole Bay Bay and have Punk return to team with FTR against the House of Black they’ll do fine.
