Enough of Hogan

I always thought Vince pushed Hogan as the top guy champ for way too long. 1993 was the straw that broke the camel's back I guess. When should Vince had put someone else over and get rid of stale top face invincible champ Hogan after so many years?

WM 7: vs Slaughter nontitle, or against someone else (Rude if he didn't get fired, or Taker)

Survivor Series 91: loses title to Taker, no controversial finish to vacate the title, doesn't get the strap back ever again, feuds with other new heels or turns heel in 92 (even Prichard would have done this)

Early 93: feuds with Bruti against Money Inc as it happened, no controversial WM9 finish

The problem is not that Hogan was around, it was that Hogan was around and still presented as the face of the promotion and World champion past the point when he should have been phased down a bit and maybe headlined some B-shows for a while before freshening him up with a new character. 7 years straight on top of the promotion is a long-ass time, even for a Hulk Hogan, and you need a change after a while.
