Early matches you were sick of
By Scott Keith on October 3, 2022
Good afternoon Mr. Keith. In my spotty wrestling fandom, starting all the way back with WM 3, I don't recall ever saying “ugh these two again!?!”, until the Orton/Cena and Lesnar/Reigns would be the go to for me. And obviously not everyone has that opinion of those examples, those are just the only ones for me.
Did you have any feuds and their matches you were just sick of as a kid? I know the amount of tv and ppvs plays into it, but did you ever watch a Savage/Dibiase match and go “ok we get it, move on”(Horrible example since those two can do no wrong, but they did wrestle a lot)?
I was really sick of Dibiase and Jake for one. I was sick of Dino Bravo and Ken Patera before it ever happened but then we saw it A LOT. By 87 I never wanted to see Hogan wrestle King Kong Bundy again as long as I lived. For a Stampede example, we got a lot of Owen and Makhan Singh. Plus Pillman and Bruce Hart defending against various combinations of Jerry Morrow and Great Gama and Makhan Singh.
