Jericho Leeching Off of Other Acts?

By Scott Keith on August 23, 2022

Another fan posited to me today that Jericho was a leech- attaching himself to hot acts to draw heat off of them. At first, I was surprised, but then I thought about it…

When Orange Cassidy becomes one of the hottest acts on TV, and Jericho suddenly does a month-long program with him, beating him up on multiple shows and only loses the blow-off, which was essentially to fall into juice- not a pinfall loss.

MJF gets hotter and hotter, and so they do a MONTHS-long “Pinnacle/Jericho” feud, which ends up all over TV. Jericho wins challenge after challenge, takes a big stunt-bump on TV, and then wins the blow-off, taking only a single big loss.

Eddie Kingston gets more and more over, and sure enough he feuds with Jericho. Then the Blackpool Combat Club forms as the most talked-about thing in AEW, and magically Jericho does a heel turn and now they're his primary feud, and he gets a bunch of wins over
them (including his win back over Eddie).

Now, Jericho looks at the lights a lot more than, say, HHH did when he was leeching off of the hot acts… but it's hard for me not to notice this now. Every single act that gets incredibly over somehow has Jericho attached to them at some point, and doesn't
always look better for it, and Jericho ends up all over TV.

What do you think? Has he been taking the proper lessons from his time under HHH's heel?
s involved pinning Eddie on TV and getting big wins over the BCC

Might as well learn from the best.
