The End of the Territories

Hey Scotty,

Whom do you believe to be more responsible for the death of the NWA's territory system?

Was it Vince McMahon, with his grand vision for sports entertainment, gobbling up stars from the territories along the way?

Or was it Jim Crockett, with his insistence on maintaining exclusivity with the World Heavyweight Champion and buying out territories like Florida, Central States and even Bill Watts' UWF.

You could cheat a little and say that it was a combination of both, but I can't help but feel that Jim Crockett really stuck it to his fellow promoters under the NWA umbrella.

Oh no, it was 100% Vince McMahon. He was the one actively trying to destroy the territory system, whereas Crockett was just greedy and wanted to run them all himself.
