The show starts off with a video package of Shawn Michaels’ collapse last week during his match against Owen Hart. Vince said it was a “stark” reminder of what can really happen.

This week we have Undertaker vs. Kama as the winner gets the urn. Plus, an interview with Bret Hart that will be conducted by Brother Love.

Rad Radford vs. Ahmed Johnson

Radford attacks and lands some shots before getting dropped. Ahmed punches away in the corner before sending Radford over the top rope. The camera shows Bob Backlund campaigning in the crowd as Vince says he was doing the same this past Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Radford snaps Ahmed’s neck off of the top rope then lands some shots before taking the action back into the ring. Ahmed clotheslines Radford then follows with a scissors kick. Ahmed drops Radford with a pump kick and after that hits a spinebuster. The announcers talk about Ahmed and Dean Douglas facing off at the December 17th In Your House show then Ahmed hits a Tiger Bomb for the win (2:47).

Thoughts: Quick win for Ahmed here as the real story was learning about Ahmed vs. Douglas scheduled for the In Your House PPV.

After the match, Lawler heads ringside to interview Ahmed. He tells Ahmed how Douglas will teach him a lesson at In Your House. Ahmed then takes umbrage and gets into Lawler’s face but Douglas comes out dressed like a middle school teacher. Douglas puts over Ahmed’s size and physique and how he has what it takes to be a star but the road to stardom takes place in his classroom as he points to the ring. Ahmed then tells “punk” Douglas class has started and gets in the ring. The crowd is really into this as Douglas stalls then gets on the apron until several officials come out. Vince also brought up how Douglas had trouble this weekend with Savio Vega in Philadelphia. Well, that trouble in Philly was not just a loss but also the fact he injured his back. And that led to something much bigger the following night at Madison Square Garden. According to Wade Keller of the “Pro Wrestling Torch” newsletter, Douglas was supposed to wrestle Razor Ramon but said he was injured and unable to wrestle, leading to Razor taking offense and claiming Douglas was trying to get out of a job. The doctor at MSG forbid Douglas to wrestle and a second doctor later in the week diagnosed him with a fractured vertebrae and a bulging disk. That Spectrum match would be the final time Douglas would wrestle for the company although he had some matches taped prior that would air in the coming weeks.

Back to the hosts as Lawler does product placement for Twix. This leads to a video on Shawn and his recent attacks starting from those nine thugs in Syracuse, NY and all the damage he took at the Survivor Series until it all caught up with him last week in his match against Owen Hart.

Aja Kong & Tomoko Watanabe vs. Alundra Blayze & Kyoko Inoue

Kong’s team gets the Orient Express team. Lawler talks about Kong and says “you don’t have to worry about her having bulimia.” Despite being tasteless it does not even make an ounce of sense. They cut to Barry Didinsky ringside shilling the new Bret Hart t-shirt before the bell. Kong & Watanabe attack before the bell. However, Blayze & Inoue take Kong down with a double dropkick. Kong fights back against Inoue as Vince brings up how she was the sole survivor last week. Watanabe now beats on Inoue as the crowd is silent while the announcers now talk about Princess Diana. Inoue ducks a crossbody then puts on the Romero special. Blayze tags in and slaps Watanabe as Vince plugs Mr. Perfect’s America Online appearance tomorrow night with Lawler adding that Perfect is replacing him on “Superstars.” Kong is in and back to kicking Inoue as Vince makes a joke about King Kong being Aja’s godfather. We go to break and return with Inoue clotheslining both of her opponents then she runs up the ropes and hits a falling back elbow for two. Watanabe comes back with a crossbody but heads up top where Inoue takes her off with an overhead suplex that pops the crowd. Kong is in now and tries a spinning back fist but Blayze ducks then runs wild. Blayze hits a pair of missile dropkicks but misses a third attempt. Blayze tags out after avoiding a splash then Inoue tries a piledriver but cant get it done and gets dropped on her head with a Saito suplex. Vince goes off the rails making references to the Princess Diana love letters and as that happens, Kong hits the spinning back fist for the win (6:04 shown) **1/2.

Thoughts: Brief but good action and a lot more chemistry here than what we saw at Survivor Series. Its also clear that Kong is being groomed as Blayze’s next challenger.

We get the clip from Survivor Series when Diesel attacked Bret Hart and the officials after losing the title that leads to last week’s promo where Diesel said he was done being a corporate puppet.

Brother Love Show with guest Bret Hart. Brother Love won’t let Bret speak and tries to say he is afraid of The Undertaker then calls him out for making his mother cry. Bret finally speaks and says to achieve great things you have to live like you’re never going to die. He then calls out Diesel for being “cheap” after what he did to him at Survivor Series. Bret then tells Brother Love to shut up and avoids talking about The Undertaker before saying he lost to the British Bulldog clean in the ring at the 1992 SummerSlam. Bret says he never stops thinking about that loss and looks forward to redeeming himself at In Your House. The interview ends but Bob Backlund sneaks in from behind and puts Bret in the crossface chicken wing as Brother Love keeps talking. Backlund screams about Bret being a disgrace then finally releases the hold after several referees pull him off. I don’t need to see Backlund again in this role but guess they felt the need to have Bret get a win over Backlund after what we saw at WrestleMania XI. In his autobiography, Bret noted that after winning the belt he had to wait eight days before being presented on TV as champion and that getting attacked to end this segment did not make him look strong and coming off of the win feels like an afterthought to both Shawn Michaels the man he defeated, Diesel. And he was correct in his assessment as this was rather lousy.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. John Chrystal

Before the match begins, we go split screen and see Henry Godwinn at his farm introducing us to his hogs that Helmsley will be meeting in the Hog Pen match at In Your House. Vince also tells us Helmsley and Godwinn have “signed on for a series” of slop matches. Vince says that Bret was not happy when he headed backstage during the commercial break and well, that was probably the case in real life as well. Helmsley punches Chrystal in the gut before hammering away. Helmsley takes Chrystal down with a high knee as Vince plugs Undertaker vs. Kama later on in the show. Chrystal fights back but Helmsley cuts him off and hits the Pedigree for the win (1:40).

Thoughts: Quick win for Helmsley as his feud against Godwinn continues to get a lot of television time. Vince also talked about how a hog pen has been constructed for the match on PPV.

We learn that Razor Ramon & Marty Jannetty will face Psycho Sid & 1-2-3 Kid at In Your House.

Now, we cut to Jim Cornette & Owen Hart as they issue an open challenge for the PPV. Owen puts himself over as hospitalizing everyone just like he did to Shawn Michaels.

Ted DiBiase leads Kama to the ring. Kama comes out on crutches. DiBiase grabs the mic and tells us that due to injuries, Kama is unable to wrestle. Vince is not buying this. DiBiase then said he bought the services of another superstar and introduces Sir Mo. Oh boy, what a treat!

An ad for next week’s Dean Douglas vs. Razor Ramon match airs. Its voiced over by Dok Hendrix.

Sir Mo w/ Ted DiBiase & Kama vs. Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer

Undertaker still has on his face guard. Undertaker beats on Mo as Vince smells a rat and mentions seeing Mabel earlier in the day. DiBiase tries to trip up Undertaker and that allows Mo to clothesline him over the top rope. Mo distracts the ref as Kama beats up on Undertaker on the outside. Mo heads out and targets the back. The crowd chants “rest in peace” as Vince talks about seeing Mabel before we go to commercial. The match returns with Mo hammering away. Undertaker fights back and chokes out Mo in the corner. Lawler calls out Vince for being paranoid because he thought he saw Mabel out at ringside. Vince disagrees with Lawler’s assessment as Undertaker heads out to beat down Kama. Undertaker goes back into the ring after chasing away DiBiase then hits a slam. DiBiase & Kama leave through the curtain as Vince says something is up then Undertaker hits Mo with a chokeslam for the win (3:59 shown) *. After the match, Mabel heads out to the ring and tries to grab the remnants of the urn but Undertaker was able to snatch it as it hung on the ringpost. Apparently, Kama put it there during the commercial break before Undertaker came out and didn’t bother to grab it before he left since even he doesn’t want to be part of this feud any longer. Now, Yokozuna comes into the ring and the two have a staredown. Undertaker gives Bearer the urn as Bearer smiles and kisses it but Mabel attacks Bearer from behind and runs away with the urn. Undertaker then leaves and walks briskly up the aisle.

Thoughts: The match itself was all smoke and mirrors and short so it was inoffensive enough but the story is that we now have a new person who stole the melted down urn in Mabel. As this Undertaker/Mabel feud now involves the urn. And this closes the book on the Undertaker vs. Million Dollar Corporation feud that stunk up WWF programming for the past year. Sometimes you have to find the positives.

Next week, we will have Marty Jannetty vs. Psycho Sid to go along with Razor Ramon defending the Intercontinental Title against Dean Douglas.

Final Thoughts: A much weaker effort than last week’s show for sure. We had one match that was decent and the angles here were not much to speak of but the crowds are digging newcomer Ahmed Johnson’s push at least. Next week’s show has a much more prestigious lineup on paper than what we saw tonight in terms of matches as they continue to finish up the In Your House card as that is just a few weeks away.
