Beefcake in 93

After Wrestlemania IX, Beefcake was never seen on WWF TV in any matches, just a couple of Face to Face promos with Hogan. Did the WWF have any plans for him other than the WM IX match? Was his return just an excuse to bring back Hogan?
Gonna go out on a limb here and say “Yes”.
