Is not Bryan Danielson by a landslide in 2021?
He started the year with two great matches against Roman Reigns, then main evented WrestleMania for the second time in a triple-threat classic, moved to AEW and had two of the best TV matches ever (30 mins with Omega, and an hour with Hangman), not to mention his merely great matches with Suzuki, Dustin, Miro, Nick Jackson, and maybe others I’m forgetting.
His promos in WWE (as a face) and AEW (as a heel) were awesome too.
Shingo had countless great performances this year, but NJPW was definitely down overall.
Roman has a very solid case too, both as a draw and for the quality of his matches. Still think it’s Bryan though,
