So I willingly fell down a Masked Superstar wormhole/boomtube and it is FUCKING GLORIOUS.

Matches, interviews, promos. This guy should be pretty damn near the Mount Rushmore, was a solid maniac and doesn't get enough accolades as far as I'm concerned.

In a shoot, Eadie explains how his contracts were layed out by Vince Sr and how in '85, Verne Gagne wanted to sign Eadie to go over Martel for AWA championship glory.

Apparently, Verne offered $7500 a week and for Eadie to quit NJPW and go to AJPW. Also, of the weekly $7500 payout, Verne needed $2000 back for booking fees.

Would ol' Verne actually try to pull stuff like that on a wrestler? Have there been any other instances like this involving Verne with other wrestlers in the past?

Anyways, I think a feud for the AWA title between whatever character Eadie would have been in AWA, against Stan Hanson would have been epic!

Yeah unfortunately Eadie was a guy who probably came along a little too soon for his own good and should have been a bigger star during the boom period.

And yeah, promoters did, and probably still do, shitty stuff like that all the time.
