Rock goes to Hollywood

Good morning, Scott –

I’m watching Rock/Hogan from Wrestlemania 18 for the millionth time – and during the intros, Jim Ross says “Hogan will be facing someone who could be the future of this business for years to come.”

So – that said – when was it clear that Rock was destined for Hollywood? Maybe a more clear question is when was it clear to Rock/WWE that he was moving on to bigger and better things?

Was Rock moving onto making movies a surprise to Vince and Company?
