Rollups n Schoolboys

Hey Scott, I'm tired of these stupid (mostly SURPRISE!) rollup and schoolboy finishes. So lazy and overdone. Watched NXT GAB (NXT has become so boring to watch, just wanted to see what they're doing now), IN THE FIRST MATCH AFTER A HARD LONG BATTLE, WHAT ARE MSK BEATING THATCHAMPA WITH???

Isn't it time to change, and somehow stop doing them, maybe by instructing the referees, workers and fans that they don't count for pinfalls anymore? Just way too much now. What happened to finishers no one kicks out of/everyone submits to or passes out in? everyone anticipating those?

The finish is a crutch of 50/50 booking because then one person “wins” without looking too strong and the other person “loses” without looking weak and they can do rematches for three months afterwards.

However, just to head off the whataboutism, AEW swings almost too far in the other direction, definitively blowing off stuff WAY too soon and not leaving any avenue open for a rematch, which means they burn through matches too fast. They could have milked Cody-MJF for another three or four matches easily and instead it was one and done and then we never heard about it again.
