The Ballad of Billy Jack Haynes

Hey Scott,
Why did WWF seemingly hate the shit out of Billy Jack Haynes? They seemed to book him horribly when he was there. Then, supposedly, they ribbed him years later by having him driving miles out of his way for a WWE tryout that never occurred (which the office did specifically because Vince hated the guy).
What happened? Haynes seemed like a solid upper-midcard guy. Great physique. Good look. Decent charisma. What made Vince sour on him, let alone give him a hate boner that lasted for decades?
I'm gonna go with “Because he was a complete nutcase”.ᐧ
