Shawn Michaels beating

Remember when Shawn Michaels was beaten up outside a night club by one or more Marines? Why not just blame the dastardly deed on the most famous Marine of all time and GI Joe team member Sgt. Slaughter. A ready made feud with a former World Champ and Wrestlemania Main Eventer.
You know, I don’t remember all the investigation that went into it, but I’m pretty sure that there was never any proof of the attackers actually being Marines. I think it was just guys with military haircuts in Jeeps, so it was assumed they were Marines and it became a thing.
Also, Slaughter wasn’t the greatest Marine, Pvt Terry Daniels clearly was.
