WWE Films/Studio; What Happened?

What happened with WWE Films/Studios? In the late 2000's “See No Evil”, “The Marine”, and “12 Rounds” were given wide theatrical releases, and “See No Evil” and “The Marine” both turned profits.(Not sure about “12 Rounds”, though.) Then it just seemed from that point forward that almost all their movies were direct to video/DVD releases. Did Vince McMahon just stop giving a shit about his company's movie department?

I think they quickly discovered that you need to spend money to make money in Hollywood and couldn't figure out a way to leverage the money from the previous hits into better creative and marketing for the followups.
