old school feuds
By Scott Keith on May 13, 2020
Good morning, Scott –
Back in the 70’s and 80’s, were feuds designed to last a certain length of time? Like the Steamboat-Savage feud was laid out beautifully, and it was 4-5 months long…but seemed much longer to me.
Was that about normal?
Typically. Really the pattern was set by Bruno, where you’d have a heel come in and do the MSG show and usually win by DQ to set up rematches, and then Bruno would win the final blowoff in a cage. And yeah, you’d get 4-5 months because Vince Sr was a meticulous planner for that stuff.
