Two questions (Bret podcast and WM)
By Scott Keith on March 20, 2020
Hi Scott,
Two questions:
1. Steve Austin did a typically superb job of interviewing Bret Hart on the network. The focus was very much on mid to late 90s. Bret touched upon WCW’s lack of gumption in capitalising on his heat upon his defection there. Bret asserted that he should’ve been in a programme with Hogan immediately. How would you have booked Bret in the midst of the ultra hot Sting/Hogan/nWo angle?
2. Why can’t WWE postpone these Wrestlemania matches for Summerslam or Survivor Series? They are wasting matches with a lot of drama and gravity that will be highly reliant on crowd participation.
1. The problem is that they instantly dissipated his heat by having him appear on TV so soon, in the middle of the Hogan-Sting program. They should have given it a bit of time and had him come out and claim to be the rightful World champion, because everyone saw him get screwed and all. Bonus points for running the show in Canada and bringing him out as the big surprise at the end. Then yeah, do your program with Hogan (with or without the belt it still would have been business) and go from there.
2. Apparently the world NEEDS to see Roman v. Goldberg and it's vitally important to get the belt on him before everything shuts down for good.
