I mean…why???
Wrestlemania has long since stopped being about great feuds finally getting settled. It's gone full meta. Wrestlemania is about nothing but the grand spectacle of Wrestlemania itself. And now it's gonna be a series of manufactured dream matches plopped out there with no fanfare and no fans.
Even a four year old can tell when "Santa Claus" is portrayed by his drunken Uncle Barney, and trying to force the issue results in long-term disillusionment. Won't exposing Wrestlemania in such a (literally) low-rent environment permanently destroy the Wrestlemania Mystique that sells it? Or are fans so desperate for such an experience that they'll just build that mystique back up for themselves after Steve Corona finally does the job?
Wait, wait…UNCLE BARNEY was Santa Claus?
