November 27, 1994
Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Todd Pettengill
This week’s featured match is Duke Droese vs. King Kong Bundy
We start off with still photos of Diesel becoming the WWF World Champion at Madison Square Garden. And by the way, check out my recap of that show here
Duke “The Dumpster” Droese vs. King Kong Bundy w/ Ted DiBiase
Vince tells us that Bret Hart will return to action in early January. Droese attacks Bundy before the bell and hammers away. He then sends Bundy through the ropes with a dropkick and after that chases DiBiase backstage while Pettengill cackles like an old lady. Bundy heads up the aisle but Droese hammers away. Bundy rolls back inside and is admonished by the referee as DiBIase talks about the Million $ Team win at Survivor Series. Pettengill tells us we will see the entire Diesel vs. Backlund match later on in the show as Bundy knocks down Droese. Elbow drop gets two then Bundy sends Droese back down with an elbow smash but this time misses the elbow drop. DiBiase is back at ringside as Droese is working the arm of Bundy. Droese gets two with a crossbody then goes back to the arm. Bundy fights out then clotheslines Droese before yelling at the crowd. Knee drop gets two then Bundy applies a chin lock. Droese fights out but runs into a knee smash then we go to break. The match returns with Droese in a chin lock as Pettengill once again reminds the audience how Diesel is now the World Champion. Droese escapes and knocks Bundy down after three straight shoulder blocks but misses the corkscrew elbow. Bundy whiffs on a splash as Vince says Luger almost won against all odds at Survivor Series as that is a comment that made zero sense since two guys survived on the Million $ Team and he was pinned immediately after a fluke rollup. Droese fires away and hits the crokscrew elbow drop but only gets two. Bundy avoids an avalanche then hits one of his own. Bundy hits a second avalance then covers for the win but does not get the five count he requested (6:54) 1/2*.
Thoughts: This match sucked. I give Droese credit for showing good fire at the beginning but this was easily Bundy’s worst performance since returning to the company. He’s incredibly slow with a complete lack of intensity. His go-to heel spot is at the ropes and yelling at the fans. He’s just a relic from the past. However, the announcers did plug actual video footage of Diesel’s title win so there is that to look forward too at least.
The hosts go over the Survivor Series report then we see the Diesel vs. Backlund match from last night’s MSG show.
Well Dunn defeat Gary Sabaugh & Mike Khoury from the 11/27 edition of “Wrestling Challenge.” The hosts here talk about what President Tunney will do about the vacated Tag Team Titles and believe he will likely announce a tournament then list off possible teams that could win.

IRS vignette airs.
Bushwhackers defeat Brooklyn Brawler & Ray Hudson from the 11/27 edition of “Wrestling Challenge.” Vince says we will hear from Diesel live on RAW and expects a huge ovation.
Charlie Minn is at ringside to wrap up the show. He said next week’s featured match is the 1-2-3 Kid & Montyoa vs. Heavenly Bodies. The Bushwhackers then touch noses with Minn as we are told this is called the “honky” and Minn marches around with them as we go off air. Once again, Minn fails to come off the slightest bit believable in this role.
Final Thoughts: The featured match was terrible but it was cool to see the footage of the title change. And Diesel as champion was the focus of the show. On commentary they also hinted there would be a tournament to crown the new Tag Team Champions and we have a featured match for next week that appears to be good on paper in terms of in-ring work. The star quality has dropped since the first two weeks but its taken a lot more seriously than All-American ever was in this time slot.
