We see clips of all the Survivor Series with the leaders giving pep talks.
The Teamsters (Diesel & Shawn Michaels & Owen Hart & Jim Neidhart & Jeff Jarrett) vs. The Bad Guys (Razor Ramon & British Bulldog & 1-2-3 Kid & Fatu & Sionne w/ Capt. Lou Albano & Afa)
Shawn ducks in front of Diesel during the entrance to make sure the camera focuses on him. Owen and Kid start things off as we see Fatu struggling to put on boots on the outside to further this dumbass storyline that originated on the “Action Zone.” Neidhart tags in but Kid takes him down wtih a dropkick. Kid then bounces off of Neidhart and then Jarrett tags him to deck Kid in the face. Jarrett struts after hitting Kid but wasted too much time and that allows Kid time to fight back. Sionne tags in and catches Jarrett with a press slam. Sionne gets hit in the head then punches Jarrett. However, Sionne eats boot on a corner charge then Jarrett uses a flying clothesline. Owen tags in then Sionne tags Bulldog as the crowd cheers. Bulldog and Kid trade arm wringers then Bulldog traps Owen in the corner then uses a press slam as the crowd cheers. Bulldog now uses a sunset flip for a two count but right after that we see Owen use an enziguiri. Owen & Neidhart use a double clothesline but try it again and fail. Bulldog hits Neidhart with a delayed vertical suplex. Fatu tags and struggles to head up top because he is wearing boots and uses a falling headbutt that looked nasty. Fatu plays with his feet and that allows Neidhart to tag out. Jarrett is in but Fatu slams him. Razor tags in and Jarrett scurries to the corner. Shawn talks to Jarrett as Gorilla brings up how Shawn & Diesel have yet to tag into the match. Jarrett struts around then toys with Razor for a bit. Razor drops Jarrett with a right hand then sends him over the top rope with a clothesline. Razor takes a swing at Diesel then we see Shawn calm down Diesel. Jarrett returns and slaps Razor after floating over but ends up getting caught in a fallaway slam. Kid tags and Razor fallaway slams him at Jarrett for a two count. Jarrett catches Kid with an abdominal stretch and works that for a bit with Shawn at times extending his arm for leverage. Jarrett sends Kid outside but Kid comes back in and drops Jarrett with an enziguiri that showed an awful lot of light. Fatu tags in and Owen drops him with an enziguiri that gets two. Fatu dances after Owen uses turnbuckle smashes then fights back. Owen makes a blind tag to Diesel and he turns Fatu inside out then the jackknife eliminates Fatu (13:31). Kid tags and dropkicks Diesel into the ocrner then tries a sunset flip but Diesel breaks that up with a choke toss then hits the jackknife for the pin as Gorilla says Diesel is unstoppable (14:14). Sionne is in and staggers Diesel with a few clohteslines but ducks hs head and Diesel elimintes him with a jackknife (14:46). Bulldog is in and beats on Diesel in the corner but he eats a big boot and goes through the ropes. Shawn is talking to Diesel as we see Jarrett, Owen, and Neidhart beating Bulldog down on the outside. Razor sneaks in to rollup Diesel for two then both men slug it out as we learn that Bulldog has been counted out (15:42). Razor knocks down Diesel then uses a flying bulldog for two. Shawn keeps barking out instructions then Diesel drops Razor with a clothesline. Vince yells about Shawn never tagging into the match as Diesel hammers away. Diesel uses the snake eyes as Shawn screams at him to use the jackknife. Razor slips out of another snake eyes attempt then uses a slam before signaling for the Razor’s Edge. However, Diesel uses a back drop to break that up as both men are down. Shawn goes halfway around the ring to yell at Diesel then Diesel uses a big boot to drop Razor. Diesel now goes for the jackknife and hits the move but Shawn reaches out for the tag. Shawn then wants Diesel to come back in and hold up Razor and Diesel does not look too pleased. We see Shawn go for the super kick but Razor ducks and Diesel gets drilled. Vince notes this is the third time we’ve seen this happen on TV. Shawn screams at Diesel then Diesel gets up and yells at him. The rest of the team heads in but Diesel goes nuts and chases everyone out and beats up everyone until Shawn is the only one left. Diesel chases Shawn through the back as Owen, Neidhart, and Jarrett try to go back to the ring and they are also counted out (21:54) **1/2.
Thoughts: The match started off with some great action. And I loved the story of Shawn ordering around Diesel until Diesel became sick of his shit and destroyed his own team at the end in order to try and get to Shawn. The turn made sense and the storytelling leading up was quite good. However, the heat on Razor at the end was dragging and the Teamsters all getting counted out to lose was a bit weak. Still, memorable for Diesel turning on Shawn.
Todd Pettengill is backstage trying to get a word with Shawn, who has his bags and is leaving. Shawn calls Diesel an “ungrateful leech” and wants nothing to do with him ever again. Shawn says that Diesel is a “zero” without him as Vince says we have located Diesel as Shawn speeds off in his car. Shawn cowardly trash-talking Diesel is good stuff.
Vince plugs the Survivor Series Hotline and we see Diesel back there on the phone.
The Royal Family (Jerry Lawler & Cheesy & Queazy & Sleazy) vs. Clowns Are Us (Doink & Dink & Wink & Pink)
Lawler and Doink start off the match. Vince is bothered by Lawler’s treatment of his team. We get a mild “Burger King” chant as Doink breaks cleanly after backing Lawler against the ropes. Lawler scurries to his corner after Doink hits an enziguiri while Vince laughs like a moron over Doink’s taunts. Lawler now tries an enziguiri but Doink ducks and Lawler is back to his corner. Doink works the arm on the mat as Dink, Wink, and Pink all run on top of Lawler then the Kings run over Lawler chasing after them in a comedy spot. Lawler yells at his team as Vince points out his “rotund” physique. Lawler now works the arm on the mat as the little kings run on top of Doink but try it again and trip over each other, prompting Lawler to yell at them once again. Doink comes back with a few slams then Lawler falls down. Each little clown tries a pin and Lawler tosses them off at two as Lawler is pissed….while the crowd is sitting on their hands. Lawler now uses a slam with the little kings trying pin attempts and we see them get tossed at Lawler on the kickout. Vince makes fun of Queazy for being fat and makes a Danny DeVito reference. Dink puts a Burger King crown on Lawler’s head then we see Doink & Dink challenge Lawler and Sleazy to a chicken fight but with Lawler getting on top of Sleazy’s shoulders until they fall down. Lawler yells at Sleazy the announcers talk about the WWF superstars on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Lawler and Doink fight over a lockup then the midgets do a criss-cross spot with the Little Kings embarrassing themselves once again. Lawler then hits Doink with a foreign object and then chokes him out on the ropes with assistance from the little kings. Lawler now tries to send Doink into the feet of the little kings but Doink reverses. Doink takes Lawler over with a hip toss as the midgets are all running around but as that happens, Lawler rolls through a crossbody and holds the tights to eliminate Doink as Vince says the match is virtually over because Lawler can only get in the match when Doink is in the ring (10:35). Gorilla notes that Lawler might as well go back to the locker room as Queazy has Dink in an armbar. Dink escapes and bites Queazy on the ass so Lawler runs in to show the ref and Dink bites Lawler in the ass. Wink grabs the goatee of cheezy and the little clowns work over Cheesy until Lawler grabs Cheesy from the apron then Cheesy uses a rollup with Lawler’s assistance and Wink is eliminated (13:08). Pink is in and gets Sleazy, who messes up a somersault as a comedy spot. Queazy tags and slams Pink then spins him on his head. Lawler then drops Cheesy on top of Pink as Queazy distracted the ref and now Pink is eliminated (`4:29). Dink is in and works over Sleazy then fends off Queazy & Cheesy. He hits Sleazy with a body press but Lawler distracts the ref and and Queazy rolls Sleazy on top for the win (16:05) DUD. After the match, Dink goes underneath the ring and we see another pair of legs. Lawler now asks for the mic and wants his music stopped. Lawler then yells at his team for celebrating, stating they did nothing, and demands they leave while saying how he hates small people. Lawler then runs after his team after they were still celebrating on the outside. We then see the rest of the clowns behind Lawler and they all trip up Lawler and roll him into the ring. Lawler then gets chased around and up the ramp. Lawler then smirks as he us up the ramp but after that we see Doink from behind with a pie waiting for Lawler to turn around then smashes it in his face.
Thoughts: Way too long and plodding for what it was. But the worst part was Doink being eliminated first and the announcers talking about how Lawler could only be in the ring with Doink to the point where it made zero sense to even keep watching this match. And it got a lot worse as it went along. The spots at the beginning were harmless but Lawler getting his comeuppance after the match was the best part of the whole thing but the truth was this feud was ice cold.
Pettengill is backstage laughing over what happened to Lawler. He then tells us about Bull Nakano defeating Alundra Blayze for the WWF Women’s Championship at the Egg Dome in Tokyo, Japan. We see clips of Blayze’s entrance and the finish with Nakano using a flying leg drop for the win. We now see Nakano with Pettengill, holding the belt. She speaks in Japanese as Pettengill talks to her like she is mentally challenged in a hope to get her to speak English but it fails.
WWF World Title Match: Bob Backlund w/ Owen Hart vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart w/ British Bulldog
We see Stu & Helen Hart sitting ringside. Backlund charges and Bret but gets slammed. Backlund bails and regroups with Owen before heading back into the ring. Backlund rolls outside after Bret takes him down with a headbutt then Bulldog tosses Backlund into the ring. Bret stays aggressive then works a side headlock on the mat as Vince puts over both men as being great athletes. Bret drops a few elbows then drops Backlund with a forearm. Bret applies a chin lock after a leg drop as the announcers wonder which hold, Sharpshooter or Crossface Chicken Wing, will be the most effective. Vince tells us that the Survivor Series Hotline revealed that 79% thought the chicken wing was the most effective hold. Bret stays in control and even fends off a crossface chicken wing attempt and goes back to a side headlock. The announcers wonder if anyone can counter the chicken wing with Gorilla saying if anyone could it would be Bret. We see Bret’s kid and wife in the crowd as Bret continues to ground Backlund on the mat. Backlund tries for another crossface but Bret reverses and hits a belly-to-belly suplex before going back to the mat, this time with a front facelock. Backlund tries to trip up Bret but Bret now puts on a modified abdominal stretch. Backlund flips Bret over and tries a slam but Bret falls on top and the ref does not count because its a submission match. Bret slams Backlund but misses a flying elbow drop as Backlund now targets the arm. Backlund tries to sneak behind for the chicken wing and the crowd yells as Bret turns around to face Backlund, who takes Bret to the mat. We see Bret’s wife and kids now from behind in a special area of the crowd then a shot of Stu & Helen as Bret is knocked outside. Owen tries to distract Bret to set up for a sneak attack but that fails. Back inside, both men knock heads then Backlund goes back to yanking Bret’s arm. Backlund applies an armbar as the announcers talk about his conditioning being great for his age and now George Foreman won a boxing title at the same age. The crowd chants for Bret as Backlund works the armbar on the mat. Bret grabs a front facelock as Backlund still hangs on to his wrist. Bret uses a swinging neckbreaker with Backlund still hanging on to the wrist then Backlund attacks Bret and goes back to the armbar. Vince lists off all the victims of Backlund’s crossface chicken wing as Backlund is still targeting the arm. Bret escapes and tries for the Sharpshooter but Backlund hangs on to the ropes. Bret pulls Backlund off but cannot put on the Shaprshooter so he settles for a figure four. Vince is screaming how Backlund is looking for Owen to toss in the towel as Owen is looking at the towel, which is placed on the stairs. Owen now acts like he will toss it in as Backlund tries to reverse the hold. Owen yells how the towel is staying put as Backlund now has a crazed look in his face before reversing the figure four. Owen is jumping up and down while screaming at Bulldog to throw in the towel. Bulldog says “no way” as Bret now reverses but Backlund is able to grab the ropes. Both men are down on the mat with Bret up first. Bret softens Backlund’s leg, even brushing off a punch to the face, as Owen is shown picking up the towel then placing it down on the stairs while pointing at it to stay put. Backlund goes for the figure four but Backlund grabs the ropes. Backlund then fights off Bret and hits a piledriver as Owen is pumped up on the outside. Backlund now goes for the crossface chicken wing but Bret grabs the ropes. Owen yells at Bret as we see another shot of Bret’s family in the crowd. Backlund uses a headbutt as the crowd chants for Bret. Backlund then uses a swinging neckbreaker before stretching out Bret’s arm on the ropes. Bret tries to fight off Backlund but gets sent into the corner. Backlund misses a corner charge and rams his shoulder into the post as both men are down. Backlund headbutts Bret in the groin but Bfret counters a piledriver attempt with a back drop. Bret misses a roundhouse and Backlund puts Bret in a sleeper. Bret is able to run Backlund into the turnbuckle as both men are down. We now get a collision spot with both men down on the mat. Bret is up first and hits a leg drop before using a piledriver of his own. A move that used to be his own finishing move. Bret follows with a bulldog then hits the “Five Moves of Doom” as Bulldog looks on from the outside. Backlund grabs the ropes but Bret slingshots him off then tries to put Backlund in the sharpshooter. Owen runs up onto the apron and Bulldog chases him around as Bret locks on the Sharpshooter. However, the ref yells at Bulldog and that allows Owen to break up the Sharpshooter with a bulldog. The crowd boos then we see Bulldog charge after Owen but Owen ducks and Bulldogs rams into the steps. Bulldog is now out cold then we see Owen distract Bret briefly enough for Backlund to sneak up from behind and lock on the crossface chicken wing. We see a split screen with Owen now looking concerned. Owen is now telling Bret that he is sorry as Backlund now brings Bret to the mat. Owen tries to wake up Bulldog and is now upset because Bulldog is not waking up. We are still split screen as the crowd is rallying behind Bret. We now look at Stu & Helen as Bret gets back to his feet. Backlund takes Bret down again and now locks on a bodyscissors while maintaining the chicken wing. Owen is still showing concern as the camera pans over an unconscious Bulldog. Vince says no one would blame Bret for quitting and how the official will have to stop the match if he passes out. Owen goes over to his parents and says he never meant this to happen and pleads for them to do something. Owen is still looking on the verge of tears as Vince goes on about how Bret will never surrender. Owen begs for his parents to do something as to not see Bret’s arm break. Bret is trying to get out of the chicken wing as Backlund maintains the bodyscissors. Owen then takes the guardrail apart and hands the towel to Helen. However, Stu yanks it away as Owen is crying about not wanting to see Bret hurt. Owen still convinces his parents to toss in the towel as Bret is still trying to do anything to escape. Vince wants to know how long Bret can endure the pain as the crowd chants for Bret. Helen then takes the towel from Stu and tosses in the towel as the bell rings. Owen heads in and takes the towel before running backstage as we await the official decision. Pat Patterson comes out and helps Bret backstage along with his parents and a referee. We then get the official announcement of Backlund becoming champion (34:44) ***1/2. Backlund celebrates as the crowd boos with Vince tells us how just like George Foreman, Backlund won the championship at age 45.
Thoughts: The match itself was house show style-paced but the story in and outside of the ring where fantastic. The story definitely did outshine the in-ring work though. I still liked their match on “Superstars” better, however. Owen was just amazing here in fooling everyone into thinking he was legitimately concerned about his brother. It even made you forget that Bulldog was down for a really long time for a spot that typically does not see people knocked out. The split screen feature worked to perfection here in a way to add drama to Owen’s actions. And with Owen no longer having any title shots against Bret he had zero reason to see him hold the title. I thought Bret was awesome in this match and everything he did in the ring to try and avoid being put in the crossface chicken wing came off as realistic and not even the slightest bit contrived. In his autobiography, Bret claimed that referee Earl Hebner said to him while “blinking back tears” after the match that anyone who ever says Bret is not a total pro, he’ll “punch in the mouth.”
Pettengill is backstrage with Owen and talks about a set up. Owen says it was a set up and calls this the greatest Thanksgiving of his life. Owen brags about tricking his parents then mocks Bret for belong a “loser” and below him down in the gutter. Owen then says he will be a WWF Tag Team Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and World Champion. Owen now mocks Bret for being a quitter and steals Bret’s tagline for himself.
Back to the announcers as they are outraged and in shock over Owen’s actions. They sold it really well.
Million $ Team (Tatanka & Bam Bam Bigelow & King Kong Bundy & The Heavenly Bodies w/ Ted DiBiase & Jim Cornette) vs. Guts & Glory (Lex Luger & Adam Bomb & Mabel w/ Oscar & Smoking Gunns)
The Million $ Team are announced at a combined weight of 1,314 lbs. Vince lets us know that Bob Backlund is now on the Survivor Series Hotline. Tatanka turns around after backing into Luger then kicks him in the gut after some pleading. That spot got zero reaction. Tatanka hammers away in the corner as the announcers talk about the Tatanka/Luger feud as Tatanka cuts off a comeback and hits a suplex. Luger pops right up and Tatanka turns around and gets punched. Luger uses a bulldog then sends Tatanka through the ropes with a clothesline. The Bodies run in and get tossed out now we see Mabel and Bundy in the ring. However, Prichard tags in then Gorilla wants to know why IRS is not part of the Million $ Team. Mabel overpowers Prichard but misses a senton. Prichard uses a knee drop but Mabel fights back and puts him away with a crossbody (3:58). Del Ray is in now and fails to inflict any pain on Mabel. Del Ray then gets caught with an uranage before tagging out to Bundy. We get a shoving match between Mabel and Bundy then Mabel runs him over. Bigelow is in now and Mabel knocks him down. Mabel now heads up top but gets slammed off then Bigelow tries a flying sunset flip but Mabel breaks that up with a sit-down splash in a spot that looked bad due to Mabel being out of position. Mabel sends Bigelow over the top rope with a clothesline and spills out himself. Vince says that Mabel hit his head on the landing and Bigelow heads inside then we learn that Mabel had been counted out (7:09). We get some back-and-forth between the teams until Bomb drops Bigelow with a flying clothesline. Bundy then whacks Bomb from the apron and we see Bigelow use a bulldog on Bomb before the moonsault eliminates Bomb (9:09). Luger sneaks in and rolls up Bigelow for a two count but eats boot in a corner charge. Del Ray kicks Luger in the face and chokes him out on the mat. Del Ray hammers away and rakes the eyes to cut off a comeback attempt. Luger then comes back with a flying clothesline for the elimination (10:55). Tatanka runs in but Bart tags and goes to work on the arm. The Gunns hit a double Russian leg sweep for two and start using quick tags to maintain control. Vince alerts us that Owen is now on the Hotline while we await an update on Bret’s health. Vince adds that the Hart Family (besides Owen) are in Bret’s dressing room and are not allowing anyone else to enter. The Gunns continue to work over Tatanka as the announcers still talk about Bret. The Gunns now hit a side slam/leg drop combo for a nearfall but Bart tries a crucifix and Tatanka turns that into the End of the Trail for the elimination (14:28). Luger is in and works the arm of Tatanka before tagging out. We now see Billy & Luger cut the ring in half until Billy gets caught in a powerslam. Bundy tags and whiffs on an elbow drop but he ends up selling Billy into the corner and hits an Avalanche before the elbow drop gets rid of Billy (17:13). DiBiase laughs as his men have Luger alone. The crowd starts up a “USA” chant despite all competitors being from this country. Luger fights off all three guys and almost puts Tatanka away with a clothesline. Bigelow breaks up a sunset flip after a blind tag and follows with a suplex for a two count. DiBiase’s guys all take turns beating on Luger fail to put him away as Vince asking “how much can one man take?” Lots of slow, plodding offense here from the Million $ Team as the crowd is rapidly losing interest in the match. Tatanka hits three straight elbow drops then signals that its over but Luger sneaks in a small package for the elimination (23:13). However, Bundy comes right in and puts Luger away with a splash (23:22) *3/4. After the match, Bundy & Bigelow hold up Luger for Tatanka, who fires away. Tatanka then hits the End of the Trail and continues the assault until the rest of Guts & Glory run out for the save. The Bodies run out but Mabel takes them out and we now see the Million $ Team celebrate in the aisle as Luger is down in the ring. Luger finally gets to his feet before the segment ends.
Thoughts: This started off fine enough but when it came to Luger vs. DiBiase’s guys they ended up making Luger once again look like a complete loser. Plus, Luger trying to survive 3 vs. 1 after following what Bret just did in a match wrestled worse with far less heat is not a recipe for success. He got what Gorilla said was a “moral” Victory in eliminating Tatanka with a fluky small package but left once again lying in the ring courtesy of Tatanka. Three months after getting turned on and Tatanka kicks his ass again. This match did not much heat at all and at this point it was clear what the company thought of Luger. And its not like the Million Dollar Corporation is living up to its push, either. I will give the Gunns credit for looking good in the ring here.
Pettengill is now backstage with Backlund, who is posing with the belt. There are also photographers at the scene. Backlund tells us he has been champion since 1977 and how he will pasteurized and homogenize us into morality and will take on anyone. Backlund then whispers about teaching morality to the children before screaming “I feel like God” before walking off. Backlund was amazing with this gimmick.
Back to the announcers as Gorilla notes Backlund regained the title the same way he lost it and if he will ever realize with Vince now plugging the Survivor Series program and t-shirt. They are $10 and $22, respectively. Just for fun, you adjust for inflation today and those prices become $17.51 and $38.52. And really, who wouldnt pay those prices to remember this show.
Howard Finkel introduces Chuck Norris as the special troubleshooting referee. He gets a great ovation from the crowd.
Casket Match: Yokozuna w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette vs. The Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer
We see the winner of the Paul Bearer look-a-like contest in the crowd. Undertaker gets the thunder and lightning effects for his entrance. Vince tells us that Yokozuna is over 600lbs as Yokouzna is petrified. Undertaker prevents Yokozuna from escaping then no-sells an Avalanche and hammers away. Yokozuna puts on the breaks after seeing the casket then Undertaker knocks Yokozuna outside and on top of the casket. Yokozuna pulls Undertaker outside and they brawl for a bit. They head back inside with Undertaker hammering away before using his ropewalk attack. Yokozuna then catches Undertaker with a Samoan drop but Undertaker sits up. Yokozuna then clotheslines Undertaker then uses headbutts to send him back down as Undertaker sat up. Yokozuna rolls Undertaker near the casket but Undertaker fights back from the apron. Undertaker drops Yokozuna with a neck snap then we see Undertaker head back inside and whiff on an elbow drop. Yokozuna plants Undertaker with an uranage and follows with a leg drop as the camera shows Norris behind the casket. Yokozuna rolls Undertaker inside of the casket but Undertaker prevents the casket from being closed. Undertaker uses throat thrusts and now both men are in the casket slugging it out. Undertaker now goes towards Fuji and grabs him by the throat. Cornette goes from behind but Undertaker decks him as the camera shows Cornette on the mat. Cornette’s facial expressions were great. Yokozuna drags Undertaker back up on the apron and knocks him off then does it a few more times. Undertaker is back in the ring as Yokozuna hammers away. Undertaker fights back and even takes him down with a mat slam. Undetaker heads up top for a flying clothesline as Vince says he’s never seen anything like that before. Gorilla proclaims that Undertaker was 14 feet in the air. We now see Bundy head down the aisle as Norris stares him down. A few refs stop Bundy then Bigelow comes to join his stablemate. With everyone distracted on the outside, IRS sneaks in and attacks Undertaker while Norris continues to stare down Bundy & Bigelow. Undertaker is now in the casket as IRS escapes through the crowd. Gorilla says that DiBiase & IRS have been planning this for weeks as Yokozuna finally gets up and goes to slam the lid but Undertaker pops up and grabs Yokozuna by the throat. Jarrett is now down the aisle and talks trash to Norris but eats a thrust kick. Undertaker now fires away on Yokozuna in the ring and hits a flying clothesline then a jumping DDT before booting Yokozuna into the casket. Undertaker then snaps Fuji’s Japanese flag and tosses that into the casket before shutting the lid and getting the win (15:25) *1/2. Yokozuna is immediately wheeled backstage as Vince tells us we’ve seen the last of Yokozuna.
Thoughts: The crowd was into the Undertaker and Norris and they worked around Yokozuna’s conditioning limitations as well as they could have but still, this went on for too long and the drama of getting stuffed into the casket just wasn’t there and IRS running in was something fans did not care about. An Undertaker/IRS feud is not exciting many people. Norris, who according to Bruce Prichard on the “Something to Wrestle With” podcast, said that Norris was involved here due to the USA Network as “Walker, Texas Ranger” was also on the network. Norris’ kick to Jarrett looked really good and they had Jarrett shit-talk Norris for a couple of weeks leading up to the PPV so it was expected but still came off well. And, Yokozuna ended up taking time off after this due to nagging injuries and the company wanted him to lose weight and get into better shape.
Vince then wishes us a Happy Holiday season and how he will see us at the Royal Rumble.
Final Thoughts: This show had some strong storyline development and the shock of Bob Backlund once again becoming the champion were memorable. However, this show also highlighted the depth problems and how most of the roster was not over with fans. And the overall action was a mixed bag. I dont think it was the worst Survivor Series at this point and I think gets a lot of flak, more than it deserves, when there are other Survivor Series shows that were less newsworthy with subpar action. I mean in all honesty, most of the Survivor Series shows after 1987 had a lot of faults. Off the top of my head, I’d say that 1989-91 were worse. Anyway, we will deal with the fallout and then head on to the Royal Rumble but not before another fancam house show at Madison Square Garden.
