WWF Monday Night RAW – November 21st, 1994

By Brian Bayless on March 3, 2020

November 21, 1994

From the Fernwood Resort in Bushkill, PA

Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Jim Cornette

Razor Ramon comes out for his match against Diesel. However, he gets jumped by the entire Teamsters Survivor Series team. Several officials run out to break things up.

We return from break and see the hosts, with Cornette laughing. Cornette is also wearing an ugly mustard yellow jacket.

Tatanka w/ Ted DiBiase vs. Chris Kanyon

Tatanka pummels Kanyon in the corner as Cornette doubts Razor will be able to wrestle Diesel tonight. Vince brings up The Teamsters having issues on the “Action Zone” and how there is still dissension among the ranks but Cornette said Diesel has smoothed things over. Tatanka continues to beat down Kanyon as Cornette talks about the Pligrims screwing over the Native Americans at Thanksgiving. Vince now brings up DiBiase failing to buy Aldo Montoya last week as Kanyon fights back and gets a nearfall with a crucifix. Sunset flip gets two. Tatanka clotheslines Kanyon and follows with a back drop as the announcers tell us to buy Survivor Series on PPV. Tatanka heads up top for a flying chop then finishes off Kanyon with the End of the Trail (4:37). Cornette predicts Guts & Glory will come up short at the PPV.

Thoughts: A long squash match win for Tatanka, who is failing to get over as a heel and in this feud against Luger. Kanyon got in a few spots at least but man his choice of attire was terrible.

We get a Survivor Series ad.

Adam Bomb vs. Jason Ahrndt

The future Joey Abs in enhancement duty. Bomb works the arm as Cornette brings up how Bob Backlund put Bomb in the crossface chicken wing. Bomb grounds Ahrndt and follows with a suplex before going back to the arm. The announcers talk about Backlund vs. Bret Hart for Survivor Series as Bomb hits a side slam. We learn that Bull Nakano defeated Alundra Blayze for the WWF Women’s Title in Tokyo, Japan as Bomb cuts off a comeback. Bomb hits a few clotheslines as Cornette compares the Hart Family to the Planet of the Apes as Bomb uses the Atom Smasher for the win (2:27).

Thoughts: Some generic Survivor Series hype but the bigger news was learning Nakano is the new WWF Women’s Champion. The Women’s Division remains an afterthought with no one really in the division two besides who just fought for the title.

An ad for the WWF RAW video game on Sega Genesis with Vince and Cornette playing as Undertaker and Yokozuna.

Vince tells us that we will indeed have Razor Ramon vs. Diesel tonight.

Todd Pettengill narrates a video package on the Doink/Jerry Lawler feud.

Now, we see clips of the recent IRS vignettes at the cemetery. That’s two video packages on dreadful storylines.

IRS w/ Ted DiBiase vs. Matt Hardy

All the enhancement talent tonight went on to do something with their careers. IRS tells us that no one will rest in peace until are taxes are paid. IRS beats on Hardy then tosses him outside. Cornette talks about buying hamburgers at Wendy’s for $4 as Hardy surprises IRS with a slingshot sunset flip for two. IRS immediately takes Hardy down with a butterfly suplex then uses an abdominal stretch. IRS continues to beat down Hardy then puts him away with the Write Off clothesline (2:52).

Thoughts: Cornette got to talk about Wendy’s on TV and that is actually more interesting than IRS has been with his stuff to set up The Undertaker feud.

Survivor Series Report airs.

Diesel w/ Shawn Michaels & Jeff Jarrett & Owen Hart & Jim Neidhart vs. Razor Ramon w/ 1-2-3 Kid & British Bulldog & Fatu & Sionne

Razor runs into the ring and fires away on Diesel. Razor then knocks Owen and Jarrett off of the apron before he takes Diesel down on the mat and works the arm. Diesel regroups in the corner and boots Razor in the gut before firing away. Cornette calls Razor a “Cuban Hot-head” and then says he is Desi Arnaz Sr. Razor now works the arm but Diesel takes him in the corner and chokes him out with his boot. Diesel drops Razor then cranks the neck as Vince talks about the problems between Diesel and Shawn Michaels. Diesel now puts Razor in a sleeper and tosses him outside right before the break. The match returns with Diesel hammering away. Razor fights back but Shawn grabs his leg and that allows Diesel to attack from behind. The other teams square off on the outside then Diesel rolls out but Razor does too and punches Diesel. Razor rolls Diesel back inside and drops him with a corner clothesline. However, Diesel comes back with a running knee smash then hits a side slam for two. Diesel drops Razor with a big boot then yells at the ref before covering and gets two. Diesel whips Razor into the corner a few times then attacks the back. Razor keeps staying alive so Diesel goes for the Jackknife but Razor counters with a back drop as both men are down. Razor now fires away and slams Diesel. Jarrett is up on hte apron and Razor decks him then tosses Jarrett inside of the ring. Razor goes for the Razors Edge and Jarrett tries to break that up but is tripped by Bulldog. Owen climbs the top rope and Razor launches him at Diesel then the others all jump the ring and brawl as the ref calls it a DQ (10:27 shown) ***. Shawn rolls out as everyone else brawls then the show goes off air with Shawn looking at the brawling while standing on the apron.

Thoughts: Good match as Razor and Diesel had tremendous chemistry in the ring. And the finish added needed heat to the Teamsters vs. Bad Guys Survivor Series match. And we saw Shawn duck out on the apron and look at the brawling to end the show. This was some nice storytelling that would pay off soon enough.

Final Thoughts: We had a good main event and angle to close the show but the rest of the show was generic hype for Survivor Series, which is now just two days away. The Cornette and Vince announce team was much better than Vince & DiBiase but some of Cornette’s material is dated even for 1994.
