X-Pac

The Observer recap from the other day inspired me to watch the Roadie/1-2-3 Kid match (I needed to see a second rope piledriver) and I got to thinking how Waltman was screwed out of the gate in the WWF/WWE based on his name alone. He was always "the ______ Kid," even in other feds, which is like rappers who name themselves "Lil' _____." You're always going to be lil', Mr. Bow Wow.
Then he came back as X-Pac and even if he had changed his character at all after the break up it's still a name that'd always be associated with DX. I don't think he could've changed his name to plain old Sean Waltman, that wasn't really how WWE rolled/rolls. Maybe he could have just gone by Pac?
Anyway, my question is do you think there was any way to save him before X-Pac Sucks became a thing if his career went the same up until the McMahon/Helmsley stuff?
Not really sure what you mean by "save him". I'd say he had a good career and was slotted exactly where he needed to be for 95% of it.
