The Top 20 Blog Posts of 2019!
By Scott Keith on February 15, 2020
Yes, it’s that time again, as we continue naval-gazing on the blog and look back on what money was left on the table for 2019. So since people seem to be interested in this sort of thing, once again here’s the top-drawing posts on the Blog of Doom by pageview, covering the period from Jan 1 19 – Jan 1 20.
#1. Wrestlemania 35 (19075 pageviews). No surprise here, as WM is the bread and butter of the site.
#2. Royal Rumble 2019 (16790 pageviews). Also no surprise, as the Rumble is the #2 show of the year. This was actually down a lot from the previous year, as was this year’s show.
#3. Summerslam 2019 (15000 pageviews). Again, as expected.
#4. NXT Takeover New York (14600 pageviews). This one came REALLY close to taking the #3 spot, which is slightly ironic because whenever I review the weekly TV show, it does nothing.
#5. Hell in a Cell 2019 (14500 pageviews). Controversy creates cash, as someone once said. As expected, this one really started gaining steam once all the reactions started coming in hard and fast.
#6. AEW All Out 2019 (14454 pageviews).
#7. AEW Double of Nothing (14278 pageviews)
#8. AEW Full Gear (14272 pageviews). Well, you can’t say that they don’t have a consistent audience!
#9. NXT Takeover Toronto (13719 pageviews). Another impressive showing for NXT, although Summerslam wasn’t enough to piggyback it up into the top 5.
#10. Extreme Rules 2019 (13694 pageviews). Don’t remember much about this one, but it was probably bad if it placed this high.
#11. Money in the Bank 2019 (13199 pageviews).
#12. NXT Takeover Wargames 2019 (13195 pageviews).
#13. WWE Survivor Series 2019 (12751 pageviews). Kind of a disputed win for NXT on that weekend, since I didn’t do a full rant on the Survivor Series show. Still, impressive nonetheless!
#14. WWE TLC 2019 (12706 pageviews). It was a really bad show, but didn’t have the interest of the other TRULY horrible ones.
#15. WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 (12611 pageviews). Terrible name, decent show, if I remember correctly.
#16. WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 (12560 pageviews). Don’t remember this one at all.
#17. WWE Clash of Champions 2019 (12217 pageviews). Ditto.
#18. WWE Fastlane 2019 (12202 pageviews). Ditto. Just a show.
#19. WWE Super Showdown 2019 (12069 pageviews). I’m really surprised this one finished this low, actually. The last one I had done did really big numbers, but I guess this one wasn’t enough of a trainwreck.
#20. NXT Takeover 25 (11610 pageviews). One more Takeover to close out the countdown.
So yeah, the biggest draw is obviously the PPVs, although AEW strongly cracked the list this year and beat out a lot of WWE shows, which surprises me a lot in some ways.
Most popular Tommy Hall review: AEW Double or Nothing (10915 pageviews). This one just missed the top 20, actually.
Most popular Observer Flashback: February 2 95. (8071 pageviews). Don’t know why that one sticks out so much, but there you go. Maybe because I returned after a lengthy hiatus with that one?
Most popular episode of Dynamite: October 09 19 (9858 pageviews). The debut would have been the winner, I’m sure, but I was in a hotel room watching it and didn’t have a computer. Most episodes of the show do slightly under those numbers, by the way.
Biggest surprise to me: My Smackdown rants are really, REALLY popular and I’m kind of thinking it’s a bad idea to stop them.
So there you go, hope you found that interesting in some way.
