WWE Holiday Programming

In the recent past the WWE has always seemed to take a break around the Christmas and New Year's Holidays, airing "Tribute To The Troops" or "Best Of" on Raw and Smackdown to give the talent and creative teams a breather. However, I noticed that it seems to be the case less and less in the last couple of years. Do you think USA and FOX have specified to the WWE that they want first run material and storylines instead of the aforementioned kind of shows during the holidays?
I think that's absolutely the case, yes. Tribute to the Troops wasn't even aired or taped this year and apparently was just a house show. Which is weird because that's the kind of thing that's perfect for a Network special.
