Rants

The SummerFest 1992

By Scott Keith on December 18, 2019

Wrestling is usually based on Babyface vs Heel booking. Having Good vs Good or Evil vs Evil is something of a rarity.

Rewatching SummerSlam '92, not only do we have a Heel vs Heel in HBK/Model, but there's also TWO Face vs Face matches in Macho/Warrior & Bret/Bulldog.

Was there a particular reason they ran three of these types on one show? Trying something new? Something of a non-continuity cuz it was in England? Or just coincidence they all culminated on one show?

Just coincidence. It was supposed to be Bret v. Shawn in a ladder match when the show was originally scheduled for Washington DC, and Davey got inserted into it relatively late in the game.
