AEW Announcing

Hey Scott,

What are your thoughts on AEW's announcing? We've all suffered through WWE's overproduction of its announcers for a long time now, so it's definitely different. But doesn't it seem like, at this stage of his career, Jim Ross may need a little more producing from the AEW showrunners? Tony Schiavone sounds inspired and as if he's barely lost a step. Excalibur is solid, although there's certainly room for improvement. Sadly, JR is often all over the place, and seems like he's having fragments of conversations that he started somewhere else. Not everyone listens to his podcast, so it has to be jarring for new fans.

(Also, is Justin Roberts the Matt Striker of ring announcers — the more we hear him, the less we want to hear from him?)

I would definitely agree that they need to gently transition Jim Ross into something else, although it's moreso that Tony has just seemed like he's reborn on commentary here and is knocking it out of the park.

And what's wrong with Justin Roberts?
