Jim Neidhart post-Montreal

Hey Scott.

Question for you.

Watching old Raw's on the Network and in the aftermath of the Montreal screwjob, Jim Neidhart shows up, joins DX and gets beat up. Then the following week, goes up against HHH and gets pinned fairly quickly after a ton of interference, beat up and handcuffed
to the ropes.

Given Anvil's ties to the Hart's, whose idea was it to make him look such a loser in the wake of Montreal, and why in the hell would Neidhart go along with it?

Jim kind of stupidly thought he could still get a job out of it if he played along, and that sure did not work out for him the way he thought it would. At that point he wasn't even under contract to the company, if I'm remembering correctly, and could have just went to WCW with Bret if he had wanted to.
