My god, I just discovered the Zodiac/Jason the Terrible promos from Stampede on YouTube. I remember you mentioning them in a previous rant on Stampede but these things are something else. How did you take this stuff as a fan of Stampede back in the day? I would think most regular viewers would likely have been put off since Stampede was sort of an action-based territory. How did you feel about it back in the day? On the plus side, these are still better than most promos today.
They got over HUGE. I can't even properly put in perspective how terrifying Jason the Terrible was to most fans. Also Zodiac turned himself into a star with Western Canadian fans for the rest of his life. They were cheesy but Jason was so incredibly committed to the role that he sold it into something special and made himself into the biggest star in the territory. Unfortunately a really gnarly leg injury via car accident ended his run prematurely, but he could have been the champion easily and carried the promotion for a while.
