Indies and Insanity: September 26, 2019

By Andy PG on September 26, 2019

If you’re a football person, your NFL Game of the Week of the Day is Philadelphia at Green Bay. In the college ranks, we get Navy at Memphis for some old-fashioned option football. If you like baseball, it’s the final weekend of the regular season with the AL wild cards (and 3rd-5th in the NL) yet to be sewn up.

And if you like indie wrestling, let me tell you what’s on the cards — right after this jump.

Your indie highlights are as follows:

  • AIW (Lakewood, OH) meets tonight for the show Bad Boy For Life in our SHOW OF THE WEEK! It’s a mystery show, with only the main event announced — AIW says goodbye to Joey Janela, sending him off to AEW with a match against Alex Shelley!
  • Also sending someone off to AEW in style is AAW (Chicago) with Defining Moment tomorrow night! Darby Allin takes on the Samoan Werewolf Fatu, while Sami Callihan defends the big gold against Josh Alexander! Plus Kimber Lee, David Starr, Curt Stallion, and more!
  • EVE is doing a double-header (London, GBR) this weekend to celebrate the career of Jayla Dark! Tomorrow, she’s facing Rhia O’Reilly, and on Saturday she goes against Tsukasa Fujimoto! Plus, we have three qualifiers for the SHE-1 (Gisele Shaw/Holidead, Jetta/Trish Adora, Faye Jackson/Rhia O’Reilly) and Solo Darling facing Emi Sakura!
  • Prime Time Pro (Washington, DC) is in action Saturday afternoon with Embassy Row (pronounced “Rao” like the term for a fight)! PTPW champ Breaux Keller teams with buddy Tim Donst against O’Shay Edwards and Jaden Newman! The tag tournament heats up as the Capital Vices face the Nouveau Aesthetique! And my homeboy Isaiah Frazier gets a dream match with Fred Yehi!

With King of Trios coming up, your Indie Match of the Week is from the 2017 show, as Meiko Satomura leads the Sendai Girls into action against Casa Dorada, a team captained by then-CHIKARA champion J.F. de Coronado! Mike Quackenbush with the call:

Bring the Insanity!
