AEW = Dancin’ Homer
By Scott Keith on September 25, 2019
I know you are a Simpsons fan. So I'm sure you recall a very early episode called "Dancin' Homer". If not, the story is the Simpson family attends a game of their local Minor League baseball team, The Isotopes. The team is struggling and the crowd is dead. Homer, wanting to wake up the crowd, puts on a stupid costume and dances like a clown for the people. The crowd loves him and the team hires him to be their mascot. After he becomes so popular The Capital City Capitals hire him to come to the Major Leagues. Homer's act instantly dies because he's now in the big league and these fans don't want to watch stupid minor league schtick. Homer is then sent back to the minors as a failure. The Young Bucks, Joey Janella, Jack Evans, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt, Nakazawa, Chuck Taylor, Evil Uno, Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy are all about to make their debuts on national television where nearly every casual fan not knowing anything about them. They are all popular in the indy's, but a lot of people think they are a joke. If the audiences first exposer to AEW is a guy wrestling with his hands in his pocket they might instantly think this is stupid minor league shit that belongs in bingo halls and not on a major cable station. Thought?
