And then the bell rings…

Scott,
We’ve kicked this around a bit here and there on the board.
There are those who have a good gimmick, can talk a bit and are good enough but then the bell rings.
I’m not saying we need ********** work or whatever, but wrestlers where it comes apart in the ring.
Likee now, Elias, Lacey Evans and Alexa Bliss, according to most.
Who are the most prominent examples that you think this would apply to, past or present?
It definitely happened to Bray Wyatt. He wasn't, like, TERRIBLE, but after all the buildup and novelty of the original character wore off, he was clearly just another guy in there and he was never able to rise past it.
Historically, Nikita Koloff was a great example, where he had this amazing aura when he first started but couldn't back it up in the ring. But here's the difference: They decided to turn that into a strength by having him destroy guys in 30 seconds on TV so that his matches were kept short. And then eventually he did get pretty good.
