Diesel & Shawn winning the Tag Belts in 94

Diesel and Shawn surprisingly won the WWF Tag Team Belts the night before Summerslam 94. Was this something that was last minute or was planned all along as they knew this would lead to their split?
Is there any footage of the match, that WWE could put in their Hidden Gems on the Network? Bam Bam & IRS were supposed to get the title shot at Summerslam, had they been booked to win the belts, and if so was their heat from them onto Shawn & Diesel?
It was as close to the literal definition of last minute as you can get. I’m pretty sure Bam Bam and IRS got over it.
