Indies and Insanity: August 15, 2019
By Andy PG on August 15, 2019
Man, it’s been a rough week for me. Had to take sick leave from work.
Five NFL preseason games tonight, but it’s Week 2 so watch at your own risk. 9 days until college football.
But first, independent cards for your pleasure.
Not much going on, but it’s a top-heavy weekend.
- Freelance Wrestling will be in Chicago tomorrow night for their milestone 50th show, Get Over or Die Tryin! The WorkHorsemen defend the tag titles in the main event against the Space Pirates, while Darin Corbin has an open challenge! Plus, Arik Cannon, Rickey Shane Page, Gregory Iron, B-Boy, and a grudge match between Craig Mitchell and GPA!
- Alpha-1 holds their fourth annual Purge show on Sunday afternoon in Hamilton, ON — and every match in no-DQ! Jody Threat battles Su Yung! Trey Miguel defends the Zero Gravity gold! We have a five-team gauntlet for the tag straps! Plus Rich Swann, Rickey Shane Page, Hornswoggle, and more!
- The INDIE SHOW OF THE WEEK is in Cheltenham, England, as Revolution Pro has their seventh anniversary show! Not many matches have been announced, although I assume it’s all hands on deck — and with a main event of PAC facing Matt Sydal, plus the next stop on the Jushin Lyger farewell tour, what’s not to love?
As for results, congratulations to WALTER, who won WXW’s 11th annual AMBITION tournament.
Your Match Of The Week features To Infinity And Beyond (Cheech and Colin Delaney) facing off against a couple of fun up-and-comers known as the Philly-Marino Experience! Enjoy this appearance from AIW!
Bring the insanity!
