Indies and Insanity: August 8, 2019

Lots of preseason football happening tonight.  The NFL Network has the Battle of New York up first, followed by LA Chargers against Arizona.  Meanwhile, ESPN is showing a bunch of Little League.  Really.

But first — let’s see if there’s some good independent wrestling floating around!  (Answer: yes.)

The big story is that WXW is touring North America, and Toronto is getting a lot of great wrestling!

• AMBITION 11 is currently in progress.  Your first round matchups were: Daniel Garcia vs. Marius Al-Ani; Alexander James vs. Timothy Thatcher; Bobby Gunns vs. Daniel Makabe; and Speedball Bailey vs. WALTER.
• Tomorrow, WXW puts on another show in Toronto, and it looks loaded!  Bobby Gunns defends the big gold against “Speedball” Bailey, while WALTER battles Daisuke Sekimoto!  In addition, a three-way tag sees The Crown, Aussie Open, and Strong Hearts face off!
• Saturday night sees WXW go to CZW’s stomping grounds in Joizey for an interpromotional war!  John Silver faces Marius Al-Ani!  Avalanche takes on Conor Claxton!  Anthony Greene battles Emil Sitoci!  The REP and the Crown face off!
• Saturday morning in Toronto sees a bunch of women’s wrestling feds (Rise, SHIMMER, and Smash among them) colliding in The Summit!  Nicole Savoy defends the SHIMMER gold against Nicole Matthews!  Zoe Lucas defends the RISE title against Aerial Monroe!  The Smash title will be decided between KC Spinelli and Rosemary!  Plus, Delilah Doom battles Shotzi Blackheart!
• We also know that Saturday night will feature Pro Wrestling EVE putting on Fights and False Lashes!  As is typical with EVE, finding a complete card is like finding Carmen Sandiego on the Africa map, but we do know that the tag belts will be on the line as WrestleFriends battle the Woke Queens, while a #1 contender will be determined between Millie McKenzie and Roxxy!
