Too many mistakes in 1991

Vince should have picked up real talent/promising workers to replace (phase out) aging movie-crazy Hogan and unreliable bad-drawing nutjob Warrior. Top heels were also pretty rare, only Taker and Flair were good choices, Slaughter was on his last legs, DiBiase battled injuries, Jake had his demons.
Instead of signing fellow unreliable nutjob Sid and a ton of midcard/undercard scrubs and saddling them with bad gimmicks (Skinner, IRS, Berzerker, Beverly Bros., Repo Man etc) who had zero chances advancing up the card, why not REALLY ( = $$$) try to sign Sting, Muta, Pillman, Austin, Cactus etc and build them up? THEN was the time!
Yeah, but then WCW would need top talent, so they'd just turn around and sign all the guys from the WWF, and then we'd be right back where we started. GREAT PLAN, POINDEXTER.
