Predictable but entertaining storyline?
By Scott Keith on July 28, 2019
We all bitch about predictable storylines in wrestling, but sometimes that is not a bad thing. What was the last predictable storyline/angle you actually enjoyed? Off the top of my head it was Batista breaking away from Evolution and beating HHH for the World Title at W.M. 21. Thomas Hall is recapping this right now in his retro Raw reviews, and it serves to remind me how much I enjoyed it at the time.
Yup, that was a very entertaining course correction from the Orton deal, that's for sure.
It just serves to point out how overdone and needlessly complex the Kofi-Bryan storyline was this year. We didn't need all the double-back twists and gauntlet matches and "Kofi might not get the shot because he's being held down" and everything else. Sometimes A to B to C works fine.
