Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope everyone had an amazing summer weekend or winter weekend if you live in New Zealand or something.

Anyway, this weekend was kind of what you’d want as a wrestling fan when this thing really kicks off in the fall. All three of the major shows were pretty good, each of them had at least a couple of matches worth going out of your way to see. And if this competition means a bunch of guys will be working hard and having good matches we will all win.

So RAW tonight. This is the start of the Paul Heyman produced shows I believe. It makes sense because the champions are all heels and Heyman tends to like to book the chase better than the babyface runs. Meanwhile the New Day is champs on Smackdown which also makes sense because Bischoff tends to like to stick with the acts that sell merchandize and keep them strong. So it seems like both show bookers will get what they want to start.

A lot of baseball on tonight. I see San Francisco hung a 19 spot on Colorado this afternoon.

Groundhog Day is on Sundance tonight. If you’ve never seen it or if you’ve seen it many times I would highly recommend watching it again.

The never-ending season of The Bachelorette is still on. And American Ninja Warrior is on and there’s like Chopped and Beat Shazam and other summer TV.

Oh yeah, if you need a random great match to watch, check out the Nasty Boys vs. Bagwell/Scorpio from Halloween Havoc 1993. Easily the best Nasty Boys match that didn’t include Bret Hart or Mick Foley. Bagwell and Scorpio could really go in 1993.

Keep it Clean.
