Paul Orndorff question

Hey Scott, hope you had an awesome Canada Day! Been reading your shit since Wrestleline. I have a question which has been vexing me for a while and no amount of Googling can solve it. I started watching wrestling after the first Wrestlemania and one of the big angles at the time was Bobby Heenan's bounty on Paul Orndorff for firing him as a manager. I've seen the YouTube of Orndorff firing Heenan on TNT, but on anything I can find prior to that it looks Roddy Piper is Orndorff's manager. Certainly Heenan was not in Orndorff's corner at Wrestlemania. My question is this: When the hell did Bobby Heenan become Paul Orndorff's manager? I'm just drunk enough to care.
I thought the bounty angle was in 1987? Maybe that's what you're getting confused about.
