Why the f&@$ not?

Vince brings in Heyman to run Raw and Bischoff to run Smackdown. On the debut episode on Fox, our comes Eric and says “I know I was hired to bring Smackdown Live to Fox, but that’s not what I’m going to do – I’m bringing WCW Nitro to Fox! Screw you Paul, and screw you Vince!” And I mean the whole shebang – they pay Schiavone to announce, they dig up the Nitro set, the works.

I think it works on a couple levels. First, they’re flush with Saudi blood money, and it’s obvious those guys only give a damn about 90s wrestling. What’s more 90s wrestling than resurrection Raw vs Nitro, WWE vs WCW? Plus, for everyone that wants AEW to be competition to force WWE to be better, they can create an illusion of “competition” that is more credible than “WWE Raw vs WWE Smackdown.”

I've had a couple of people pitch this and I love it on a creative level, but FOX paid a billion dollars for SMACKDOWN, not for "some show that died in 2001". There's a reason they spend all that time and money branding stuff like this.
