Easiest solution to WM problem
By Scott Keith on April 9, 2019
Aren’t we all overthinking this WrestleMania length issue… just start the show earlier! With the network, there’s no need to run the show in prime time. Start the show at noon, or even 2:00PM. The show ends between 7-9 and the fans stay awake, maybe even make their trains home. The product is still very much targeted to kids. Why not make WM a day event instead of an all-nighter?
Also an easy idea, although only applicable when they're running shows on the east coast. Also, Vince has always been in a New York state of mind, to quote Billy Joel, because of USA Network and TV mindset and such. Which basically means centering activities and start times around what people in the eastern time zone consider "normal".
Either way, the whole insistence on needlessly adding hours and hours of "watch time" to the product without any consideration for the crowds or the audience in general is burning out their fanbase, even if they don't see it as a problem because of all the money that's rolling in.
