Indies and Insanity: The Thursday Night Thread, March 28, 2019

Gonzaga/Florida State, Virginia/Oregon, Michigan/Texas Tech, and Tennessee/Purdue begin tonight.

Meanwhile, let’s look at the calm before the indies storm:

• AIW has WrestleRave on TONIGHT! Weird World teams with Session Moth Martina to take on the Production in a huge six-man, but for me, the highlight is the women’s match: Allie Kat vs Kylie Rae!
• CMLL presents Super Viernes on Friday as per usual. Barbaro Cavernario defends the Light Heavyweight Title against Forestaro, but the highlight is Caristico/Valiente/Volador taking on El Terrible, Rush, and a special Ingobernable named Tetsuya Naito!!
• PCW is in California for the Ultra Wrestle Summit tomorrow night! Shane Strickland defends the big gold against Mil Muertes, while PCW and DEFY unify their tag titles as PCW champs Warbeast face DEFY champs The One Percent and bonus team Dan Maff/Shawn Donovan!
• On Saturday night, I’ll be in Fairfax for NOVA Pro’s final show. The main event is one more time of Arik Royal against Logan Easton LaRoux, while Alexander James faces Anthony Greene!
• Glory Pro is your PROMOTION OF THE WEEK with Aces High in Illinois on Sunday afternoon! Curt Stallion defends the big gold against Ethan Page, while the Besties in the World face the Lucha Bros for the tag straps, Joey Lynch goes against Kobe Durst, and the Four Star Heroes face No New Friends in a Tables Match!
• RPW is usually Live at the Cockpit on the first Sunday of the month, but with WrestleMania being that week, they moved it up. Not much announced, except for Zack Sabre Jr defending the big gold against… (checks notes)… James Mason, apparently.

This weekend, I’ll review the Indy Show of the Week from 2017: Beyond Wrestling’s CAFFEINE! Featuring Jeff Cobb vs Keith Lee, Matt Riddle vs Donovan Dijak, and Janela/Ford vs Ryan/LeRae!
