Worst follow-up to a hot angle/storyline?

What do you think was the worst follow-up to a hot angle/storyline? In terms of recently, I'd have to give the nod to the whole Mizdow/Damien Sandow finally snapping and breaking away from the Miz. Right after that went down, they had Sandow come out and cut a promo saying he was going to be himself from now on. That didn't last very long, as Sandow soon teamed up with Curtis Axel doing a spoof of the Mega Powers. The WWE ended up releasing Sandow not long after that.

Very true. Although the all-time winner still has to be the Summer of Punk, which took a business-shaking promo from Punk and somehow led to HHH v. Kevin Nash as the blowoff.
