Making the most of bad gimmicks?
By Scott Keith on January 2, 2019
I was just going back and watching some old stuff that featured the Eugene Dinsmore character in the WWE circa 2004. That got me to thinking; What wrestlers have been the victims of bad gimmicks over the years, but have made the most of them by playing the roles pretty well?
Obviously Undertaker and Kane are the gold standard of people being given ridiculously goofy gimmicks and just leaning into them. I'd say John Cena also did an admirable job of taking a dead-end gimmick like the white rapper and making it into a main event run. And even Chris Jericho survived, despite being forced to play Doink.
