King of the Ring 88-92

Browsing around WWE Network by year tonight, and it's really amazing to think how big a gap there used to be between WrestleMania and SummerSlam in the late 80s/early 90s. All the other ppvs were 2-3 months apart, and then you've got this massive gap. Kind of surprising that it took them until all the way in 1993 to introduce KOTR as a bridge.
Got me to thinking about what KOTR might have looked like had it existed from 88-92. Not just who would win the tournament, but what other type of stuff we might have seen.
Curious to hear your thoughts, as well as those on the blog.
