Angles that made wrestlers
By Scott Keith on December 31, 2018
Hey Scott
You recently addressed angles that ruined wrestlers. But what about angles that made them? Having been recently rewatching WWF from 1999, HHH debuting the sledgehammer and destroying Mankind’s left knee (shortly after the Greater Power storyline) seemed to be a real watershed moment for The Game, as up until that point he still looked like a jacked-up midcarder. Can you think of particular angles that made you sit back and think, “yep, this guy’s going all the way”?
John Cena pinning Rikishi clean on Smackdown with the FU in 2003. Up until then he was a comedy guy with the rapper gimmick who had Bull Buchanan helping him win, and from then on it was rocket strapped to his ass and no looking back.
