Hogan/Andre II

I'm not arguing with the ratings the match got, but wasn't it such a huge rematch that it could have easily sold out an arena much bigger than that one in Indianapolis given the attendance at the silverdome? (I have a funny feeling there's gonna be a whole "real attendance" of wrestlemania III debate in the comments section now).
Also while one heck of an angle, doesn't the title get devalued a bit when someone would rather give it up than actually want to be the champion? That's something that has always kind of stuck with me over the years. You turn on your friend because you believe he doesn't respect you enough to give you a title match. Then when you win it, you don't want it. Really just makes no sense. To be honest it's almost like they should have just blown off Hogan/Andre here. Even make it title vs career. Not like Andre had much left anyhow. Then after you can have Dibiase attack Hogan to set up Hogan/Dibiase down the line with Ted winning in the same exact screwjob finish that we got with Hogan/Andre II. President Tunney can still put the title up in a tournament with the reasoning being Dibiase violated some ethical rule or something
I think the point was less devaluing the title and more showing how much Dibiase wanted it, that he'd presumably pay Andre huge sums of money to get it. It makes the belt even more valuable, in a literal sense.
As for the rematch being in a regular arena, booking a stadium show in February is a risky proposition. It's gonna be COLD unless you're in California or somewhere like that. They did one in Milwaukee later in the year, but by then we'd seen two Andre-Hogan matches that year already and the magic was gone.
