Coolest Wrestling Moment You Saw Live?
By Scott Keith on December 14, 2018
Greetings, Scott!
So you've been asked about the best and worst shows you've attended and now we're down the ol' memory trail. So what's the coolest single moment you saw live?
For me, it was an AWA house show in 1980 in Minneapolis in a match between Super Destroyer Mark II (heel, w/Bobby Heenan) vs. Super Destroyer Mark III (face, w/Lord Alfred Hayes) in a standard match shortly after II left Hayes for the Heenan Family (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1bH1fv2Evk).
During the match, II turned III's mask sideways and went to work, not letting III regain his sight. We were into this big time. When III finally got a bit of daylight, he THREW HIS MASK OFF and made the comeback to the biggest pop of the night (the main event
was Da Crusher pinning Bockwinkel in a cage match).

I was a wee shit back then, so I told all the kids that I saw III unmask and I knew what he looked like and I'd be validated by the next episode of All-Star Wrestling…where III was right back under the mask and the incident was never mentioned. My honor
was on the line! But I soon realized that it was a little something extra for the paying fans and the coolest thing I saw live at a wrestling show.

How about you?
Probably at Backlash 2004, when the entire arena basically brought the main event to a halt to vent their anger at Shawn Michaels for the Montreal Screwjob. I don't know exactly how it came off on TV, but it was an amazing thing to be a part of live.
